The restaurant buzzed with a festive atmosphere, complemented by good French pastries that highlighted the culinary expertise on display. The room, immaculately tidy and tastefully decorated, offered a view of the fine garden. The lack of certain traditional breakfast options, such as kippers, and the distance from the nearest station could be a consideration for some travelers.

Secluded location adjacent to the conservatory, Galashiels, it was in a lovely area. The atmosphere created was family.
Their staff were awful.

Came here for 6 nights with my family members, everything was lovely. The location was lovely - a few steps away from everywhere I wanted to go. Moreover, it was next to tourist attractions, the so called cocktail bar and Galashiels town centre.
The staff was awful.

The family suite was massive, with a seating area and a private bathroom that had a fantastic shower. It was super clean and had a kettle, tv, and a wardrobe. Breakfast in the orangery was a treat with fresh coffee and views of the grape vines. Great service from the staff.

The staff were super friendly and helped us out with an earlier dinner since we arrived late. The room was nice, clean, and warm. Breakfast was really good too, especially the large portions! Was a nice quiet stay overall.
The parking area could use some tidying up and the bathroom needed a bit of an upgrade. No safe in the room was kinda inconvenient.

Charming historic atmosphere with great dining
The room was spacious, and the staff were cute, we felt right at home. Dinner in the restaurant was a standout experience, with locally inspired dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. Some areas, particularly the bathroom, could benefit from a refresh to match the rest of the hotel's charm.

The amazing Victorian architecture grabs your attention right off the bat. The fine garden views offer a tranquil escape.
Navigating those steep, winding staircases can be quite the workout, especially when hauling luggage. The hotel itself shows signs of wear. Some furnishings look a bit tired or tattered, indicating a need for restoration. Heating systems in rooms can be hit or miss, leading to some discomfort on chillier nights, which could definitely use a closer look.

Perfect stay for a couple seeking relaxation
The staff were friendly, it's rare to find that kind of hospitality. Breakfast was great, I mean the black pudding and haggis tasted like they should be winning awards or something.
It wasn't exactly a bargain but still reasonable enough for the quality you get.

We had a lovely stay in a charming room with a gorgeous view and a super comfy bed. The garden was perfect for relaxing with a drink and the cozy bar area was a nice spot to unwind after dinner. Just a heads up, the stairs to our room were a bit of a trek, but the service was so attentive it barely mattered. 😊

Pleasant Stay with Room for Improvement
I enjoyed my stay, especially the cozy ambience of the dining area while savoring breakfast. Staff interactions were warm, but the small window in my room could've used a cleaner touch. Ensure to check the dining room ambiance on your way-hidden treasures await inside!
